Amazon might order things for us BEFORE even we know we want it
Jul 5 . 4 min read
Have you ever searched for those black Nike shoes you saw someone wearing today and see an ad later in your Instagram and Facebook feed a few hours later? Or even without searching for them, you get apropos advertisement when you start browsing the internet?
Has all this made you believe your smartphones and smart devices such as Alexa or Google Home are spying on your conversations? Well, I’m going to leave this polemical rhetorical thread open. Albeit, Amazon’s prediction and suggestions are already very precise, it’s going to step up with Amazon’s “Anticipatory Package Shipping” patented in 2004. Amazon’s working on this for more a decade and a half on this system in which they are going to ship a package to the customer before they even order it. To be specific they’ll ship to a geographic destination and reroute it to the customers when the customer orders it and, in some cases, even without an actual order from the customer. Amazon’s collecting customers’ data for 25 years now (well exactly 26.0164years or 9,496 days’ worth of data) and the data as we know is the most valuable and expensive asset to humankind currently. When the copious amount of data is fed into machine learning algorithms the predictions can be dead on target and accurate. So, the computers at Amazon will be able to predict when and what you want to buy before you buy it. As Forbes puts it:
Amazon is wildly popular because it does three things very well: it provides the convenience of a nearly one-stop shopping experience from the comfort of your home; it remembers what you bought and when you bought it; and it recommends other products you might like, based on your shopping history
Forbes
Amazon will ship the products before you think of purchasing it, you receive the products immediately as you order them or even before you decide to order. You will receive the package and use the product then decide to pay for it. The whole Conversion Funnel is restructured. The convenience of getting the products you want before you want it is what machines can do, The convenience of gifting yourself new shoes while amazon knows the limits left in your credit card and your typical choice and budget and Finally The convenience of getting the utility without worrying, for instance worrying about the garbage bags running out or even perhaps the fresh fruits. With this blithe predictive shopping, Amazon’s doing the job for you while you can be enjoying life. Speculative shopping could enhance the shopping experience by giving gifts and promotional discounts when you want to buy the item that arrived and even as gifts when the algorithm fails, and you don’t want the product. Amazon might use the data on the supply and demand, the prices of shipping back to the warehouse to calculate the discounts, and the decision of giving the product as a freebie. As mentioned in the patient:
“The package is offered to the potentially-interested customer at a discounted price, where the discounted price depends on the determined potential cost of return or redirection. For example, rather than incur the potential cost of returning or redirecting a package without a sale, some or all of the potential cost may be offered as a discount to a potentially interested customer, such as via e-commerce portal as an inducement to convert the potential interest into an order. In some instances, the package may be delivered to a potentially interested customer as a gift rather than incurring the cost of returning or redirecting the package. For example, if a given customer is particularly valued (e.g., according to past ordering history, appealing demographic profile, etc.), delivering the package 260 to the given customer as a promotional gift may be used to build goodwill.”
Google Patent
While you may think “yeah so far so good, it is prolly gonna happen when there are flying cars and I’m grown grey-haired” then you may be wrong. Amazon started giving out “samples” in 2019 to test this out geographically. (This is a video of a drone that can be used delivery of Amazon Prime orders, no flying cars yet but we’re getting there). This speculative shopping is more common than you think it is, in an akin way to Amazon’s “anticipated shipping”, a daily phenomenon exists now and is already happening without the algorithms, we have bulk suppliers who are already ordering daily dairy and veggies every day just by speculations of everyday orders. We at our households already know approximately how much bread and flour requirements are for the month or the week. Moreover, As I am an Amazon seller, I know a significant portion of toys are ordered by customers in south India, so I regularly send it to a fulfillment center in south India for faster and cheaper delivery. A computer scientist at IBM, László Bélády, devised an algorithm to predict what will be used in the computer next and hence allocate it to the faster working memory, due to which we can browse the web and read articles such as this so quickly. This was called Bélády clairvoyance(clairvoyance is an ability to foresee can be thought of as That’s So Raven show which was aired on Disney channel, or the prophecy written by The Maharishi Markandey in his book Markandey Purana).
Supposedly, the Machine learning algorithms and AIs are already set up, what about the shipping rates and losses when the customers don’t accept the orders?
Let’s do the maths. Suppose a Rs 500 item. (sold by Amazon seller i.e Cloudtail in India).
It costs Rs 100 for Amazon. Considering it is shipping for free to the customer which costs them Rs 150. It costs Rs 250 for the item. Rs500 -Rs100(Cost of goods) -Rs150(shipping) = Rs. 250 profit which is almost 50% profit (not considering tax and packaging in this).
If they ship 1000 orders, and no one chooses to return the predicted order, Amazon earns Rs 2,50,000. (1000* 250) In an unfortunate turn of events for Mr. Bezos, all orders are returned, then paid for return orders for to and fro shipping. They lose Rs.3,00,000 (1000*150*2). That’s a bummer! Consider x as the no. of shipments to be successful (not returned) for Amazon to reach the BEP (the breakeven point) then 1000-x were shipped back.
Total Profit= Total Loss
[250*x]=[300*(1000-x)]
250x=300000-500x
x=400
So, if 400 people keep the product or 40% keep it, it reaches the breakeven point. Hence if the algorithm can beat 40% they are at profit every time. The real-life scenario can be different, but it all makes sense if correct numbers are put into a similar equation. In my opinion, they are going to be way profitable with this. The icing on the cake is, it’s going to make Amazon reach even more heights in their trove of e-commerce triumphs.
But wait a minute, what about Data Privacy? Have we signed up for this while we assiduously read all the Terms and Conditions and did due diligence while signing up for Amazon? As per Amazon’s Privacy notice

Apparently, yes. But isn’t this psychological manipulation taking advantage of needs and oniomania of mankind? Is it similar to The Cambridge Analytica Campaign which led to Brexit and Victory of Donald Trump in the presidential election? Also, to the debunked
“enforcement” of “stringent” Facebook’s privacy policies. The internet is open to divulging data and we chose the convenience of the internet which entails the data we share.

What’s Industry 4.0 and How we can exploit it by ‘leapfrogging’ using techs like blockchain and AI?
AUG 18 . 5 min read
IMF has called India the fastest growing and emerging economy in 2020 ( LINK )
Albeit China and India are the only emerging economies despite the pandemic, India can still do better. We already know India’s 70% of the population is below 35 and it’s the largest in the world, and out of these 42.6% percent are either unemployed or yet living in poverty. That’s it for the facts. What we can do with that?
If the major enterprises and government focus on leapfrogging the technology for rural and urban India, it could be a game-changer.
Leapfrogging is using advanced technologies such as the internet and telecommunications to make the process of learning, development, and financial advancements take a big jump skipping the intermediate processes. This is essentially skipping the undergoing R&D hit and trial, crash and burn and speeding up the process.
What’s the deal IT and Tech?
IT for India right now is analogous to what automotive was to Japan after WWII. This is for several reasons:
For one, IT in simple terms is maximizing the efficient scarce resources, which India was coerced for and now it’s an advantage to India.
Secondly, IT is a GPT -General Purpose technology- it is characterized by pervasiveness, technological dynamism, and innovative complementariness. GPTs have the influence to change and affect the economies and societies. Some examples are Electricity, Steam Engine, and Wheel(4000BC), while the newer ones include IT, Internet, Computer and Artificial Intelligence, etc.
Thirdly, the Workforce of India consists of possession of skills such as coding and testing which is relatively abundant than to other countries, which can power charge IT sector if the right ingredients for the chemical reaction are added. Just for a fact the IT-BPO sector is 5% of the GDP and is growing.
Evolution of Industry
Let’s go back in time
1st Industrial Revolution or the Industrial Revolution
In the first half of the 18th century with the onset of the Industrial Revolution by the industries with Invention of Machines, Steam Power, Textiles, and Iron Making. This in turn got the huge upheaval in share to Global Economy by Britons.
2nd Industrial Revolution or Technical revolution
It was just before World War I beginning of 19th century Involved – Steel, more efficient manufacturing, magnetism (ac-dc motors), railroad, telegraph, and electricity
3rd Industrial Revolution or the Digital Revolution
Computers, Cell Phones, LCDs and the Internet
4th Industrial Revolution (Industrie 4.0) or I4
Well well….it’s next-generation Cyberpunk 2077 thing, it’s characterized by –
robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the internet of things, the industrial internet of things (IoT), Internet of People(IoP), decentralized consensus, fifth-generation wireless technologies, 3D printing, and fully autonomous vehicles.
For the Industrie 4.0, we are looking at 4 pillars to develop and innovate:
- Interconnection – for example, IoT, IoP
- Information transparency- for example blockchain
- Technical assistance- example: robotics, AI and machine learning
- Decentralized decisions- for example, blockchain and AI
While all of the technologies are somewhat interrelated and eat off on one and another. AI and Blockchain are still very new ‘babies’ and have a long way to grow. This is why Venture capitalists are investing so much in these techs. The number of VC investments in the blockchain is still 0.2%. Blockchain, AI, and IoT are revolutionizing the business, automotive, space, finance, and health, etc. This tech showcases unprecedented opportunities for public as well as enterprise sectors.
The developed countries are first to step in, the higher the risk they take, and the higher the reward they devour. This is why developing countries are left out in the race. These technologies are very powerful on their own but in the symphony are meant to conquer. With the IT side so bright, India could see exponential growth from the current growth rates. But unfortunately, our governments are providing limited space for development and an almost ‘unfriendly’ environment for entrepreneurs and investors.
Considering Blockchain and the crypto-sphere
Stringent government restrictions on international money flow make it significantly difficult for Indians to transact with many of the large foreign crypto exchange platforms.
The countries to step up, and are crypto-friendly in the race are The USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Iran, Germany, Italy, Poland, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Australia. The legality status of crypto-sphere in different countries
India and China are following a similar strategy to diminish the 3rd party enterprises and enforce it’s own platforms and FinTech companies’ to gain tax holds of the citizens.
This is highly controversial strategy as the cryptocurrencies no matter how regulated will be used, so why not regulate it in a friendly way and make the most of it to offer?
Let’s see why should we believe the “scammy” virtual cryptocurrencies after all.
How is the paper money(fiat) competing with cryptocurrency anyway?
For those of you who know me, you knew this was coming. But I’m not here shilling for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. or
The first generation of Money– Commodity
Money itself started 3000years ago as the barter system or the commodity itself. One man would trade a stone ax for say help with killing a mammal. Such arrangements took a lot of time
Second Generation of Money – Currency
The paper money was started out as a test by china and it was a credit-based economy that valued the paper printed.
CONS: It works on supply and demand and the negative side of this is the currency wars and counterfeiting. The currency wars worked by competitive countries such as the USA and China, a country would drive the competitive country’s currency price up to and making the good expensive to purchase or driving it down to make the enemy’s hands feeble and helpless in terms of buying power. This is the problem that arises when the fiat isn’t backed by the commodity.
Third Generation of money – Digital Money Credit/Debit Cards and Digital Wallets
We’ve all used credit cards and digital wallets such as Google pay or amazon pay. These are fast and efficient and hassle-free. It’s also helpful in minimizing money laundering, counterfeiting. But privacy is sacrificed. It’s centralized and it’s up to the central authority to maintain the law and order. It’s changeable and it’s up to the central authority what prices they charge or will they even recognize you if it’s your account. So, it can be vitiated.
“Centralized networks keep a lot of confidential information about users. This data may get lost, hacked, or be transferred to law enforcement agencies at court request.” –Andrew Tar, Cointelegraph
Fourth Generation of Money – Blockchain-based Cryptocurrency
It solves the problem of centralized control and it is not prone to manipulations.
It’s fast and secure. It’s anonymous so banks won’t know what you are doing with your finances. All of the cryptocurrencies aren’t fully anonymous. Though the addresses don’t contain any confidential information such as name, residential address, etc., each transaction is registered, the senders and the receivers are publicly known. Thus, all the transactions are tracked.
Although a downside is if you send money by mistake, it cannot be reversed. It’s still developing on its speed and the complexity of use for a naïve user.
With tech like cryptocurrency, it is still a journey to wide acceptance but it has nevertheless proved a lot of merits already. The awareness of the wide audience would give it a ‘better name’ in the picture as a whole as the financial institutions discredit its functionalities.
We’ve already started with using I4 applications such as
- Optimize logistics and supply chains
- Autonomous equipment and vehicles
- Robots
- Additive manufacturing (3D printing)
- Internet of Things (IoT) And the Internet of People(IoP)
- Cyber-physical Systems (CPS)
- Augmented reality (AM/VR)
- THE CLOUD
- Unsupervised designs and efficacy- Machine Learning And AI
When robotics, 3D printing, data analytics, the Internet of Things, and digital fabrication are joined together, they integrate the physical and virtual worlds.
Economic growth had been slowing for the past 50 years, but we can seek relief from Industry Revolution 4.0. With I4 we can see a massive explosion in manufacturing, entertainment, finance, home automation, automotive, space, internet, and many more industries with a macroeconomy boost and growth in the economy, productivity, and growth.
Eventually, Industry 4.0 is set to flourish over the world. Yet, just by comprehension and bridling the innovations driving Industry 4.0, will makers remain on the bleeding edge of this new computerized time. With Tech like Blockchain, AI & Machine Learning, and IoT the world is on the path to reaching all-time highs in achievements and questions the limits of what’s possible. If the governments, enterprises, and the citizens understand the importance of this and work towards a collective advancement, this could be the like living in the era of what we saw in the sci-fi movies and games.
We’re launching Algorithmic Trading bots and high-interest rates wallets(10% or more monthly). With Zero Complexity and unlike banks, we are not holding your funds.

Languages, words, and their meanings – Purposeless? Exploring Telepathy and Alternatives
If I say ‘words are meaningless’ and so is language, we’d better be without it, and write a whole whopping 5000 words blog post about it. It’d make me a hypocrite. But go over this puzzle first…
a man born in 1946 and died in 1947, and He has lived 86 years. Can you explain this?
I didn’t say those were years, did I? so it could be room numbers. It’s one of the silly “suck my dig bick” things. We as humans have certain proclivity and predilections due to some hardwired behavior and learning developed gradually for thousands of years. These tendencies turn into bias and play a part in not letting the out-of-the-box thinking unleash, which may be keeping humankind (relatively) slow in advancement (to other extraterrestrial intelligent species).
There are various earth-shattering writings which were composed hundreds or thousands of years back. These writings have been accessible to the majority for hundreds or thousands of years. These writings portray the fundamental words and ideas in the most convoluted detail and with plentiful uses and examples. Compared to modern languages, which are more complex and with multiple level nesting and structures.
Most lamentably, the Words that truly matter, are good for nothing generally. Not on the grounds that they are good for nothing in themselves, but since in our larger part, we can’t get them.
WHAT’S THE WORTH OF WORDS, GRAMMAR, and LANGUAGE?
The quieter you become, the more you can hear.
-RAM DAS
In the book Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Siddhartha, the boy who left home to become a saint, the knowledgeable one. But astonishingly, when he finally meets for whom he was looking for, The Lord Gautama Buddha, he refuses to be the disciple. He realizes that he wanted to experience what Gautama did in his journey. Govinda, his best friend, chose otherwise and they both went on different paths. After a coon’s age, when both of them advanced in years living completely disparate lives. Govinda hears of the sage ferryman and he wants to meet him. The sage man is no other but Siddharta. He decides to visit him still in search of the right path, and when he finally meets him. Govinda is amazed to see such an enlightened man akin like Gautama. When Govinda asks him how and what made him so aware and wise, Siddharta is perplexed by what he could teach to the disciple of Gautama.
Siddhartha doesn’t know what he can say to the Venerable One but suggests that perhaps he is seeking too hard. They both have turned really old, Siddhartha says that he has many thoughts, but he has learned that wisdom cannot be communicated. Words are too simple and are inconsistent. Knowledge can be uttered, but wisdom can only be attained through life. Words always destroy the meaning and words make everything seem conflicting to everything Gautama has taught.
Siddhartha comes to his best thought. He tells Govinda that “the opposite of every truth is just as true.”
While all this might seem lurid and fanciful, it is tantamount to the simplest summarization of ‘the purpose’. Epistemologically speaking, we don’t even need grammar, conjunctions, fillers, connectors, and etc… Gary F. Marcus in July 1992 concluded that it was not necessary that children’s speech be syntactical to be understood by their parents, and with the help of experiments to prove this from 1970. We don’t even need experiments for this though; observe the infant growing up and ‘acquiring’ the language (According to Krashen ‘learning’ is less important than ‘acquisition’, ). Consider this…
They speak in a way …. For example: – “momma Da da na na TABLE” or “daddy da na na na Bathroom”
This shows their interest to go to the table or bathroom, and they just fill the sentence with random noise in place or grammar. Because they understand the logic first, and as they grow, they learn the grammar and syntax. Similarly, if we are exposed to Japanese and Portuguese speaking people, we tend to understand relatively quicker than we first speak a sentence.
You can understand the logic but cannot speak the syntax. David Everett explores his theory that language isn’t innate but a tool developed by humans to solve problems. Take the case of the Pirahã community of Amazon. Their language doesn’t consist of numbers, past or future, or Even Recursions. (Sapir, Reichenbach, and the syntax of tense in Pirahã) Recursions are nesting in the sentence, such as “He’s going to the park, wearing a cap, for a walk”. So the Pirahã community’s translation would be: “He’s going to park. He is wearing a cap. He’s going for a walk”. It doesn’t make sense; it makes the language unnecessarily verbose. But imagine you’re in a loud concert, would you use smaller and simpler sentences or long and complex ones? The short and curt ones. Although you might think this makes the Pirahã community less intelligent than us, they’re as smart as us, if not more.
Their language cuts out the noise and might seem abrupt and nonsensical but is more efficient. This is the reason why most programming languages’ syntax is short and concise.
Take a look at Sanskrit, it is so concise and straightforward, which facilitates it to be remembered and rehearsed. Henceforth, a whole competitive activity (Avadhana held at Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs ) is built around it. Another thing that makes Sanskrit unique is The “Sanskrit effect” observed by a Neuroscientist who found out remembering mantras increases cognitive functions in the human brain. (A Neuroscientist Explores the “Sanskrit Effect”)
Hypothetically, Can we “train” an organism to learn a language if the language is being adopted by an intelligent species like humans? or vice versa with humans’ infants to be brought up by some other unintelligent species (like in the on Shanichar- the boy who raised by wolves, who could never speak or learn, Jungle book is based on him)? Or perhaps with only robots with food replenishment and books?
But wait, Doesn’t Language make us stand apart and make us intelligent species?
Humans have language but all creatures communicate
Rudolf Carnap suggests the thesis of physicalism, in which the physical language is proved universal and inter-subjective which means it can be conveyed in another form, for example- using signs, actions, chirps, gestures or even thoughts. So human beings can be considered an intelligent species because they have a language?
When people think of highly intelligent animals, there are a handful of species that come to mind. Parrots, dolphins, and of course great apes have all been widely studied and demonstrate behaviors that indicate some level of higher cognition. Recent research has actually shown that species like dolphins and great apes may exhibit traits such as self-awareness and adaptive problem solving that are key parts of higher-order thinking. However, despite such advances in understanding, none of these species have been shown to have a detailed and expressive form of communication. Until recently no animal communication had been decoded outside the pages of Dr. Dolittle. That discovery was actually made in prairie dogs. Yes, prairie dogs. These members of the squirrel family, historically thought of as pests, have been found to have a form of communication that can only be called a language all its own. This discovery has huge implications for how scientists view behavior and value intelligence among animals.
(medium)
Prairie dogs, yes, they have their own language that has been proven. But they aren’t intelligent? Prairie dogs can distinguish and convey characteristics about seen dangers, for example, a predator’s stature, weight, size, and shading. They utilize various phonemes to recognize physical qualities and can even recall certain attributes from an earlier time. Not exclusively do these creatures use action words and things, yet they consider sentence syntax when tattling with one another.
Every morning the birds chirp and sing randomly right? No way they are communicating something. It can be observed that even birds have different accents in different regions and climates as well. (Birds have regional accents according to scientists). Even pet owners will agree their pets have a unique language of communicating to them. But it’s very limited to emotions such as hunger, excitement, sometimes sadness and others. But not anymore, Soon enough pet owners can be talking to their pets and other animals with AI ( Say woof in animal language).
So the language is more common than we think it is. Hierarchy, recursion, and grammar are all over the universe and are not exclusive to humans or even living beings. It’s shown in RNA Replication, which is a biological process.
Humans are capable of walking hence we walk, but we can crawl too. Hence not speaking language can’t be a sign of intelligence. Humans have evolved to walk but that necessarily isn’t showing intelligence, in fact, our backs aren’t fully developed for standing upright. That is also the reason for backaches being so popular. (LANGUAGE ACQUISITION )
You are not alone feeling overflowed and inundated with the internet, books, news, even Youtube, and with the ever-increasing data and flawless communication systems. It feels it makes us more distracted and underproductive. And do we actually remember, comprehend, and apply everything we digest every day? Would it better off without it? Would we still be this technologically advanced and equipped with such great ideas such as traffic, currency, communication, law, and enforcement systems? Maybe.
Living without language: Scope of development or is it destruction?
Reverend Thomas Bayes, came up with the popularly known – ‘Bayes Theorem’. Bayes Theorem deals with probability and prediction, most importantly it needs some information existing to predict it. The more the merrier. This information is called priors.
A guy living at the poles would overestimate the amount of snow on the planet, similarly, someone living in the desert might overestimate sand on the planet. Both are well-tuned with their niche. Everything changes when humans acquire a language, they tend to state only the interesting things and not the experiences. So humans tend to talk about a snake bite or a double rainbow more than the usual, although the frequency of those happening is very low.
Similarly, we experience this with news and social media, which tend to show events that are rare and interesting while actually the chances of that happening is very low and it makes the permanent estimates in our brain, biased ( another way to put it, as mentioned earlier, the Bayes theorem of probability works in such a way that utilizes Prior knowledge of the events. So if the input of prior knowledge is erroneous the output estimate will be fallacious. For example- if you get heads 100% times in a coin toss, we can estimate the winning chance is 100%, but the prior coin tosses were with biased coin and the considering result will be performed with a fair coin will be different). So to have true knowledge, we need to protect the priors which are more difficult than it seems, Minimizing news, reading social media enforced propaganda and even talking to your friend might force priors in you without your acknowledgment.
On the other hand, the tribal or primitive species communicated only the necessary and the fundamentals which were based on experience, in lieu of interest, which didn’t hamper the priors of Bayes theorem and we had a better and truer perspective of the world.
Suppose we can go and live on any planet just like it’s done in star trek with a fresh start… Would we have a better IQ or memory if we’re not inundated with language, goals, routines, how-tos and whatnots and in leu be using our inference to reinvent the wheel? The results could be interesting.
Well, then let’s go over to Hundredth Monkey effect
In an isolated island of Japanese monkeys, one monkey discovered sweet potatoes and figured out washing it would make it edible. One monkey taught another to wash sweet potatoes who taught another and soon all the monkeys on the island were washing potatoes where no monkey had ever washed potatoes before. When the “hundredth” monkey learned to wash potatoes, suddenly and spontaneously and mysteriously monkeys on other islands, with no physical contact with the potato-washing cult, started washing potatoes!
It is what the self-help experts preach, we’re all energy and we’re all connected? It can be telepathy.
Speaking of telepathy, the machine learning-based robotics arms. How can robotic arms or legs be controlled by thought?
The nervous system (consisting of the spinal cord and the brain) is made up of cells called neurons, which have the unique characteristic of being able to communicate with each other using electrical signals, through connections called neural synapses. Using this communication system, one neuron can send an electrical “message” to another neuron or even to an entire network of neurons, allowing for an immense number of possible firing patterns. This complexity is the primary reason why, to this day, the exact mechanisms by which neural firing patterns create phenomena like memory, consciousness, sensory experience, and motor action remain largely unknown.
Hardvard Science Review
It turns out machine learning unsupervised models can do the job which seems difficult for us, it maps the signal of moving the arm to actually moving the arm without actually knowing what’s going inside. This is BCI: Brain Controlled Interface.
But that’s way too far from telepathy, right? (Here’s Ironman explaining the same in the YouTube original series: How Far is Too Far? | The Age of A.I.). While we are it…
Let me introduce you to synthetic telepathy: The Brain-to-Brain Interface: From Reading Minds to Controlling Minds(BBI)
In the 2013 study, “A Brain-to-Brain Interface for Real-Time Sharing of Sensorimotor Information,” two rats were placed in separate cages and each given a choice of two levers — one that resulted in a reward of water and one that did not. A rat dubbed the “encoder” rat was shown a flash of light above the correct lever and was trained to learn this association. The “decoder” rat, on the other hand, was given no visual cues, but its brain received the stimulation from the cortical area of the “encoder” rat through the BBI. In a breakthrough finding, Nicolelis discovered that the “decoder” rat was able to make the correct choice of lever with over 70% accuracy, with no cues or information except for the learned knowledge “sent” by the neural activity of the “encoder” rat’s brain.
Harvard Science Review
In this study, the brain of one rat controlled the other rat’s brain. While this may sound interesting, it’s not over yet.
This was mimicked by using the human brain to control the rat’s brain, to move the rat’s tail with 94% accuracy by Harvard’s researchers, and eventually connecting human brains together.
That sure is exciting and fascinating. It’s like Professor X from X-men is not a distant wild imagination.
We can speculate that a world without language and grammar could’ve been just as advanced if not more. Philosophically, epistemologically, as well as biologically we survive with and without the language just fine. Although there are theories that the ancient man originated on the Earth with language pre-existing, the empirical evidence is debated by scholars. We could be using other means of communication like telepathy or some other form. But it doesn’t define any species intelligence.
To sum up, it’s a complex topic of whether the language has done better or worse for mankind. It’s safe to conclude that humankind could benefit from experiments, and hit and trials, and maybe curfews on data and grammar intakes. It’s a planet full of surprises and unknowns after all.

Our world has become more divided than was in the past. We cannot speak without being chastised or disparaged. We cannot read without feeling angry or dismissing it as spurious. Amidst all this, to be placid, we can be agonistic and demur the former beliefs or we can look for answer.
To be resolute with our beliefs with so many contending proponents and information is quandary. I am fervent of lord Shiva and have a very calm and non-reactive temperament. However, when I read a Quora post long time back, where a guy wrote Shiva doesn’t exists and there’s no prove of any god other than lord Krishna, I felt the indignation and consternation in me, I wanted to write invective response to it. I didn’t but the thoughts surrounded me for the next few days and nights. This is just an example of what is happening against many of the religions and even sub-religions like in my case. To peruse I followed my thought patterns and to find out what was behind those thoughts, because I couldn’t believe God – someone who loves us, cares for us and is infinitely intelligent being- in any religion would want schism in his devotees.
The only source of our beliefs is the information we infer from the pious texts of whoever we believe in. Its either us or infer or the cult preachers. Cult preachers mold the texts to make us infer what ever way they can gain the strong devotion of their devotees. Such as The terrorists preach jihaad so that they will be able to attain Jannah (heaven) after they do their “good deeds”.
Whereas “The use of the term “jihad,” however, is one of the most misunderstood aspects of Islam. When some Americans picture the word jihad, they imagine a so-called “holy war” by Islamic militants, waging terror against civilians using suicide bombings and other extreme methods.
The Islamic concept of jihad, however, is usually not one of violence.
The Arabic word is often translated as “holy war,” but its true meaning is actually “holy struggle.” In a religious sense, as described by the Koran and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed, jihad means striving for the benefit of the community or the restraint of personal sins. It can refer to internal as well as external efforts to be a good Muslim or believer. It primarily refers to efforts to improve oneself. “
Similarly, the people are brainwashed by different cults or even family and friends who were who had gone through akin process. That’s why there’s a lot of divisions among religions, and even sub divisions amongst religions. So, what are we missing?
The purpose of these divine texts was neither to preach one’s religion or god over other nor to postulate superiority of Greek gods over Jesus and likewise. The common purpose is to teach how to live, what values and virtues one should have. Contrary to popular belief, the afterlife may not have sub divisions of different religions or worshippers go to.
So then why do we have all the tons of communities and religions?
I believe, human beings are emotional beings they are derived from emotions they work on emotions. We have different stories and incidences of different divine beings so that we can relate to one or feel the affinity to one over the other. And That’s okay! The purpose behind that is to understand the values to feel the empathy for others, spread unconditional love. In Hinduism, the gods, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu pray to each other. They don’t accept the love from the devotee’s if one pray’s to one god and hates the other. Even in the Ramayan, Lord Ram states many times, the God will take care of everything, he’s the creator, we must pray to god. Like wise Shiva doesn’t accept their devotees if they hate Lord Shiva. This means the god is one, all these forms are assumed so that we can understand him in any form we can relate to. If we all understand the deeper meaning of this and the love from the creator we can be free from all the sub divisions we just created in our society.
